Salvation & Deliverance Headquarters Church, Harlem NY

Founded by the late Apostle William Brown, Salvation & Deliverance celebrates 50 years of continual service unto the LORD under the leadership of presiding Pastor, Apostle Jerome King.

The Salvation and Deliverance Church Ministry is devoted to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people, offering every person the opportunity to repent, grow in faith, and worship God in spirit and in truth.

We serve our community by visiting nursing homes, encouraging those who are incarcerated, and praying for the sick in hospitals. We also feed the hungry and provide clothing for those in need as we carry out the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to welcome all who desire to know Jesus; to care for those in need; to teach and walk in the truth of the holy scriptures through the power of the Holy Spirit; and to share salvation and deliverance for the heart, mind and soul, bringing glory to Jesus Christ.

Origin of the Ministry

The Salvation and Deliverance Church began as a small storefront ministry but has grown into a welcoming non-denominational, interracial, international Holiness ministry. Its main goal is to preach the gospel with power confirmed by signs, driven by a worldwide evangelistic mission.

Apostle William Brown, the founder and General Overseer, left Corporate America to dedicate his life to serving God through a Holiness ministry. Between 1972 and 1974, he led evangelistic crusades in New York City and beyond, also pastoring a small congregation in a rented African Methodist Episcopalian Church space on 132nd Street.

This work led to the establishment of The Salvation and Deliverance Church, with its first owned house of worship opening on February 9, 1975, in New York City at 113-115 West 128th Street. Unfortunately, in April 1975, the church building was destroyed by fire. The congregation moved to a temporary location at Mount Morris A.M.E Church on West 112th Street and Fifth Avenue, holding services on Friday and Sunday evenings.

Despite the challenges, the church continued to grow under Apostle Brown’s leadership, and by New Year’s Eve 1976, they moved into a new building at 951 Westchester Avenue in the Bronx. The congregation’s faith and dedication were rewarded with miracles, healing, and spiritual growth.

The church outgrew its space again, and on July 9, 1978, they moved to their current headquarters at 37 West 116th Street in New York City. The ministry emphasizes sanctification, personal holiness, and Spirit Baptism. Believers strive for Christian perfection and a life pleasing to God, guided by the Holy Ghost.

The Salvation and Deliverance Church is known as the "Church built by the young people," with a majority of members under forty. Emphasizing holy perfection over denominationalism, the church believes in:

  • Water Baptism in Jesus' name.

  • The Lord's Supper and foot washing observed in John 13:4-17.

  • Sanctification through the blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Justification by faith.

  • The Resurrection and Jesus Christ's return (1 Thess. 4:13-17 & 1 Cor. 15:51-53).

  • The Bible as the inspired Word of God and final authority in all matters.

  • The Triune Godhead as one in Jesus Christ.

  • Godly living modeled after Jesus.

  • Divine Healing.

  • Baptism of the Holy Ghost such as during Pentecost, with the gift of speaking in tongues.

The church invites all to experience the love and power of God in their lives.
